First fall outfit. Although it’s a little bit crazy, fall is here. With its cold insidious breeze it wants to tell us that it’s time to take out some pulls. Given that we are in autumn but good weather and sun are overpowering, I have chosen a fall outfit with summer shades. In fact I wore a light pull, grey/burgundy shades, and nude legs, because we can avoid stockings yet.

This fall is taking a lot of good news for me, and I’m looking forward to tell you everything.

LONG SKIRT, PULLOVER AND COAT

I always loved long skirt, for different reasons. First, are super fashion and easy to match with all. They give you a chic and classy touch. You can wear them with jeans skirt, tee, cardigan. You can see how I did it here and here. You can wear them with flats for a sporty outfit, or with heels to be smarter and look taller. Then, are useful. If you wear them with high heels you’ll obtain a slimmer figure. If you have large hips, just wearing long skirts with high waist will be useful to look slender. Just try and you won’t believe on the result! Moreover are so democratic and women friendly. Exactly what miniskirts are not. For example I spend long periods not going to the gym (you know it’s not my passion) and I always eat so much. I even though to go to an hypnotist for stop eating that much! Anyway, in these periods I do not feel really good with my body (and with my thighs), I absolutely do not feel like wearing Alessandra Ambrosio miniskirts style. I need something that makes me feel more confident, and a long skirt it’s perfect. Are even iper-feminine. They slip on you legs when you walk, and you feel like a past times dame. This feeling even makes you looking more elegant for the others, because naturally you start having graceful posture and carriage. That’s why I suggest to everyone long skirt or a dress with a long skirt even during the winter. In summertime you can wear them a lot (few example how I wore them here, here and here), but during winter they give you that chic touch that will makes you shine even more.

BRITISH SKIRT: ODE TO IRONY

I wanna take advantage of today’s post, in which I wear such a sober skirt, for write an ode to irony. Even more the self-irony. Everyone know that life it’s amazing, but even difficult. Every morning we wake up and we don’t know what could happen during the day. Surely we’ll have to afford small and big challenges, maybe we will meet new people, we will have to use our skills (and often our patience). We can win or lose and all depends from circumstances that we can not plan before. Maybe we go to an exam well prepared and the tester ask us the only thing we don’t know, we have a job interview and you are super confident, but someone with connections get the job, we prepare muffin and they do not rise (well if it all happen during the same day maybe you need a voodoo ritual!). So what can save us if not the self-irony? Who is ironic never lose, taking himself not to seriously knows that good and bad things can happen, but he found a reason for it. Who is to self confident and sure to be the best one surely will be disappointed many times, with great fun from the others. The irony makes our life easier and makes us winner. I am sure that stumble in a dip wearing high heels in via Montenapoleone during the Fashion Week it’s not nice, but if we laugh about it, it won’t appear that bad and the witnesses won’t remember about the fact, but about our great reaction. And if we score C and not A+ during an exam, we should just laugh about our unlucky we are not tell everyone that the examiner did his work wrong, there are more important things than a mark. Because the unlucky are deeply the most pleasant, and a positive karma always helps. In the life the best accessories is our smile, because it keep the attention, and even if we’ve chosen the wrong outfit no one will see it.

DOLCE AND GABBANA HEELS AND LEATHER DRESS

Women are amazing. Each one of us is a unique universe and no one is same as another. But we can not deny that there are many points in common. One of this is love for shoes, particularly high heels. Loved and hated. I love to see them in the shop windows, in the magazines and even piled in my room, when I do that two famous steps in front of the mirror. All the rest of time I hate them. High heels are awesome, no doubt, slend your line and always give that sexy though that we love. I adore them because they make our legs thinner, and it’s always a shock when you take them out and your calf become quickly the double. When I try them in from of that poor mirror in my room (I think it laughs a lot) I immediately start acting like if I am shooting for Vogue’s cover or like a 50′s pin-up, and I feel to be beautiful like never before. And how comfortable they seems in that meter of runway that is the distance from the door to the wall in which the mirror is hanged? In that moments you are sure that you would be able to wear them all the day without problems, that run from one side to the other of Milan and taking six times the tube will be easy. You’ll be able to run in the streets of the city or you’ll walk fast and sensual, leaving everyone amazed by you (“how slender is she”?!) or for how well you walk in them (“she have to be a model or something like that”). Then you decide to wear that heels. Even if your boyfriend sweetly reminds you that you go mad when your feet are painful and that Mike Tyson is a kind guy compared to you in that moments, but you don’t care, and that new heels that you have bought are the ones, the comfy ones. But, uff, it’s never like that. That heels that seems to be like socks are bastards. Even them after few steps started hitting your feet,that if were clobbered were less in pain. So you decide to take a break, you sit in a bar, and carefully, you take your feet off the shoes. Soothe! It seems to be the most peaceful moment in your life. You start thinking that to be happy in the life, it would be enough not wearing heels. You enjoy that freedom, sure that you took the right choose and than will be easier wearing torture instruments again, that won’t be painful anymore. Than you do it, and you realize that it has been one of the worst ideas ever taken. Your feet in that moments without duress are risen like a muffin, and that pain now is double, you feel like walking on burning coal after a burn.You are in panic. How will you go home? You have to walk for kilometers and you are not able to do another step. Your boyfriend is there, in silence. He doesn’t speak because that he is risking his life just for being there. He coyly ask you what he can do for you. What do you wanna do idiot? He says that he wanna carry you till the car (there are self-confidence courses at the gym?) or to buy new flats for you. You think about the second option, but how long will it takes? Maybe years, probably centuries. In the meanwhile you should wait in that bar, ordering at least a dinner for justify all that time sitting at the table. So you decide to bring all your last energies and walking like a hero to the car (that is useless, cause you always have to park that far away). But not every cloud has a silver lining, and the life offer us situations for grow and learn. That’s why every time that I wear high heels I have with me a pair of flats, the tragedy is at night, when I use one of that useless clutch. But we will talk about it another time.

LEATHER JACKET AND LONG DRESS

We all know: fashion fades, only style remain the same. Often the most famous sentences are even true. I have to admit that my mum has reason, never throw away something. It’s a great precept. She is blowing the dust off all her original pointed shoes, to Valentino rock stud’s face. I, like everyone else, change my taste easily, now I find myself wearing clothes seen on magazines that few times ago I would have never wore even under torture. For example the 80′s, glorious years, in which the nowadays fashion is born, times in which the fashion designers changed their role from tailors to real stars, the years in which Madonna introduced the young Dolce&Gabbana to all the world. Till few times ago I used to see the 80′s like something ridiculous, a kind of mistake that has to be avoided again. And I was one of the most sure about that. Than, one day, you start seeing studded jackets, studs, bodices, sweater with neon prints, leather gloves, blazers with shoulder pads, eyebrows everyday bigger, and visible socks everywhere. And what about leg gins, always more reflecting and fluo? Now I ask myself if the 80′s where that bad. I am always be a 50′s and 70′s lover, I see with different eyes that decade that for me was an abomination. I can’t do without boy-friend jeans, I wear socks with any kind of shoes, I made my eyebrow thicker. And I love it! Surely I don’t wanna be like Carrie in the first years in New York, but few influences from that period totally conquered me. What have I learnt from this? Never say never Melissa, the time goes, the fashion fades, but everything come back. I think the fashion is at a focal point, now like never before we can follow different trends, but we can made our own style. We can choose what makes us feeling ease, without strong precepts. This is the goal of the fashion, suggesting us trends but leaving everyone the opportunity to experiment and find out his own style. For me fashion is a game, I love to evolve and change, today I am so eighties, tomorrow who knows.

MICRO BAG DOLCE AND GABBANA, MATTER OF PROPORTIONS

Do you know when you have bought something new that you love and you can’t wait for wearing it? That was my feeling, I couldn’t wait more for wearing my new Dolce and Gabbana micro bag. I think it’s gorgeous and super unique. You know, I love the extremes: I like big bags that are super ample or micro bag, and I have to say that this is the smaller of my collection. I love it because it’s a bag that seems a jewel, it really shine. The shoulder strap can even be used like necklace, it’s full of pendants and it’s so Dolce and Gabbana. Surely I won’t be able to fit in it more than the necessary, but anyway “less is more”. I decided to wear it with a look not too strong, I was searching to give her the importance that she deserve. A high waist skirt, that always helps you to look slender and to make your figure slimmer, a grey pullover, that it’s perfect during these firsts cold days, and a jeans jacket with stripes pattern that I think that it’s really cool even if basic. To make the look just a bit more fashion a beautiful pair of Prada heels (that you can see in another outfit here). I wear them with socks firstly because outside during the shooting it’s freezing and even because since when I found out that I love the super trendy result of this match I am really addicted to it. I am sure that if you’ll try too, you won’t come back and your feet will be grateful!
