DENIM SHIRT AND..WILL OF SUMMER

Denim shirt. In these days I can’t even realize all the news that are filling my life. I am not only talking about the blog, that everyday gives me satisfactions and surprises, but even about my private life. I have to say by the way that they are linked each other. Today Save and I will be in Milan again (I can say that we already leave there) for checking few houses, because in September we will move there.

We took two totally different careers, that are taking both of us in this city, that we love like if it has always been our hometown. If you wanna follow my everyday life even more just follow my Instagram profile @melissacabrini, in which I gather all my best instant during my days.

About today’s pics, with unbottoned denim shirt and my favorite leather pants, I would like to give you my calm and peace feeling that was in the air during this shooting. There are those days in which you decide that you don’t want to think too much or being stressed by daily problems. You just enjoy your life for what it really is, a simple string of emotions and feelings. You leave the wind to move your hair, the sun to warm your skin. This is one of the best present that you can give to yourself, even if it seems to be banal and predicted.

For feeling good you have to wear clothes that represent you. Jeans shirt, in summer but even winter, with sweater, pullover and coat It’s a must, that I deeply love. This denim shirt has unique sleeves and I think I will wear it a lot this Summer (bottoned obviously).

BLACK SHEATH DRESS AND JEANS SHIRT

A classic black sheath dress, made a bit more “interesting” matching it with jeans shirt and a really casual jacket. I wore it for a walk in Rome visiting some of the amazing monuments of the city. Basic for the look are even my new Zara shoes, that I think are really beautiful. Recently I bought so many Zara shoes, I felt in love with new collection. I already miss the mega store in which I spent lots of time when I was in Rome. By the way, today I can’t complain, I am almost ready for going to Seravalle outlet. I am going to check if there is something new and for spending a relaxing day before Milan Fashion Week starts, with all the runways and events that there will be. I can’t wait to take part of it. Yesterday I went back to the gym after so long and I am a bit worried because today I feel pain everywhere. I walk like if have sticks and not legs. It was really the right moment to start it again because this year I really wanna be in perfect shape for this summer, without potbelly (I failed last year on this proposal). Luckily I have Save like personal coach and he is organizing all my training sessions. Today no gym thankfully, we will spend the whole day for my beloved shopping. I am so happy. I hope to find something nice. Looking today’s look makes me think at those great days spent in Rome (I miss it) and the nice weather of the Capital. Even if it’s February, there seems to be Spring. Happily even here now it’s really nice, I really can’t complain about it. I wore black sheath dress because it was really comfortable, and I matched it for making it perfect even for daytime and casual. Now I have to decide for Fashion Week looks, that I will join from Thursady.

OUTFIT INSPIRATION: JEANS SHIRT AND LEATHER PANTS

Today I show you an outfit inspiration really simple, perfect for a shopping day or if you wanna be fashion and comfy at the same time. Everyone would like to be able to choose fast the right look in the morning, everyone would like to be able to be unique even wearing a simple jeans and sometimes it looks like impossible. Secret are accessories. I deeply trust in accessories power, they are able to change your look and make cool even the simplest one. In this outfit inspiration I decided to match three simple clothes that you all have in the wardrobe: a jeans shirt, leather pants and a cardigan. To transform a look that is absolutely not interesting I wear a pair of glitter sneakers, a hat and a belt laced on waist. I would like to talk you about hat. It’s an accessory that I discovered lately, and that really opened a new world for me. Here you can see other two posts in which you can see me wearing hat, before with a black dress and then with sweater and pencil skirt. Hat is a really fashion accessory, that it’s a plus for an outfit that it’s already unique or just for make a boring outfit different. Today Me and Save have to pack first things for the new house in Milan, in which probably we will move next week. I even have to go to the dentist. Help. I want that it would already done. I am so terrified, I hate going there. I am scared.

ROCK CHIC OUTFIT: HOW TO MAKE IT

This rock chic outfit is the one I wore last Friday for a day spent in Milan in a day full of meetings. In these days we are organizing so many projects that should be done before Christmas, and the time is really short. I was looking for a comfy outfit, to be able to move easily all around the city, but even really cool, because I had to meet many peoples that obviously work in the Fashion world. I opted for something that I was sure of: a rock chic outfit, Oxford shoes and colored coat. I really love rock outfits and all leather, studded, chained accessories. However, I do not like to exceed and I prefer to balance rock pieces with a ultra chic style, for obtain a rock chic outfit, alternative, but not too much. In this case I wear a leather skirt, I match it with an outerwear: a jeans shirt (soon I will make a post just to show you many ways how to wear this piece). Oxford shoes with applications, strongly mens inspired, were what I was searching for the perfect look. The outfit has been made less formal using a colored coat, so feminine and chic, a leather gloves, but pink and my beloved Balenciaga, that shows us how an accessory can be rock but even fashion at the same time. My advice to do not look like a The Kiss member when we decide to wear leather and studs it’s to mix them with romantic or light colored pieces. Gloves are something that too often is not used, but I really think they have to power to change a whole outfit. In this case pink gloves have been basic for giving the chic touch to this outfit. The day has been hard, but full of satisfactions, we went back home tired but happy. Surely this rock chic outfit, that helped me feeling good, has been a great support to be ready meeting after meeting always with a great enthusiasm.

ISABEL MARANT POUR H&M SWEATER. THAT YOU ISABEL.

I think that when Isabel Marant created this sweater was thinking to all of us. Not only because she already knew that we would have loved it (how can we not?). but even because she wanted to save us in many occasions. Indeed, during this season, I realize even more how women are busy. We wake up in the morning opening our eyes wide, conscious of what we have to do, and already in late for doing it. We stand up fast, and we run from one room to the other doing many things at the same time, just for do all what we planned. Our breakfast is a coffee/tea walking and, during diet days, that sad whole cookies so thin, packed in 4 (so we can’t even eat one more). In the rest six days of the week (diet start and finish on monday) we eat what we found, anything fast to eat (usually a 500 kcal croissant!). Than we run to work, activity in which we’ll spend 80% of the day. When we go back home (so tired) we would like just to rest, doing a mask, going out with friends, but not. A full of dishes sink is waiting for us, all our underwear is waiting for a laundry (not the special one that it’s still in the drawer with price tag!), the bedroom is a mess (thieves came or was like that even before?), dogs and cats wanna eat and our boyfriend/husband is on the sofa. After that moment in which we are shocked and we watch incredulously at the situation (he can’t see what I see?how can he be so calm?), we start and after a bit the miracle has done: everything it’s perfect, or better, the house looks like a house. Than, our boyfriend wake up from something that was absorbing is brain, looks at us and ask us – do you wanna go out?-. Are you asking me if I wanna go out? My only thought it’s to sitting on that sofa and ordering a pizza! Deeply we have energies to go out, and together it’s always nice so we go. It’s for days like this one that Isabel gifted us her sweater: fashion, easy, that you can match with everything, perfect both for day and night, warm and chic. She saved us from deciding what to wear. Thank you Isabel!

DONALD DUCK AND I, SINCE EVER

Since when I was a child, when I used to read Mickey Mouse, I always identified myself in Donald Duck. I’ve never suffered Mickey Mouse, always so perfect and smartass, while Donal Duck is like me: unlucky and lazy, obviously in good meaning (if this words can have a good meaning). Because, since when I was a baby,I am always be like that, in the end I do what I have to do, but always with much effort, because my nature is to be lazy, so lazy. I know that when I go out I’ll have fun and it will be worthwhile, but the idea of staying in my bed wearing my pajamas eating chips it’s so strong. And when I found a bit of time for doing nothing there is always someone (Save or my mum) that force me to do something reclutantly, like poor Donald Duck, tyrannize by Scrooge McDuck that always force him working for paying his debts, or by Daisy Duck that always ask him move furnitures (why that girl/duck has always to change the position of the furniture?). Another Donal Duck bad luck is to always have his cousin Gladstone Gander, the perfect lucky braggart, that always go in the proper way to him, and even makes waves about it. I can’t tell you how many Gladstone Gander I know, that I try to avoid and I always meet. Small bad luck, like his ones, happen to me. The only difference it’s that I don’t slip on a banana, but I fell from heels, and instead of a vase on my head, I always snag my tights while I am wearing it, I put my phone in the bag with keys, if I have an opportunity in the majority of cases go bad. I have one last thing in common with Donald Duck: I am like him, I never give up. I get mad and I do lots of noise, but after a bit everything it’s ok again and I carry on my way, not caring about what happened. I always admired him persistence and wish to have fun. Because in the life all we are a bit Donald Duck, but if we don’t surrender and we stay focused on good things around us, in the end we can see everything in a different way.

JEANS SHIRT AND JUMPER

Surely you’ll say “it’s obvious”, but I hate Mondays. It’s all my life that I hate it. Since when I was a child, it was the day in which an entire week at school began after a Sunday of fun. It’s a negative day for the karma. I think that it’s not just because work or study start again, but it even suffer the comparison with Sunday. If what I’m saying it’s not true, why no one hate Tuesday? Why we do not talk about an horrible Wednesday? Why these days, guilty like Monday, have not the same bad fame? Simply because the sad of Monday it’s the result of the Sunday’s happiness. I don’t know you, but I’m happy when it’s Sunday. I wake up late, I enjoy a slow breakfast, I relax cause I know that I have nothing to do. I am one of the laziest person in the world, and a day of rest seems to be created for me. Sunday I do not go out. Often I do not even take out my pajama and I spend my day from sofa to bed, from TV and internet, sometime all together (multitasking miracles!). Monday the world starts to spin again, to repopulate, that streets that were desert the day before are now full of cars, motorbikes and people that run, the silence now is substituted by shouts, laughs, horns and rumble, shops and clubs that were closed now are full of people. And you know that even for you will be a stressful day, with many meetings, and till night your bed and your pajama will be just dreams. And there is an entire week till next Sunday. You know that there are no excuses, you won’t be allowed to eat all what you want because it’s holiday, and the rules are again an important part of your life. That’s why Monday it’s a bad day, Tuesday you are already ready, it’s already a day of routine and you do not suffer that much and, deeply, you know that next Sunday is getting near. That Sunday that is being so rare that makes it special. If it won’t be so short and unique we won’t regret it. So let’s be brave and we have to afford this Monday, thinking that tomorrow will be already better.

SPOTTED SLIPPERS AT THE LAKE

When I was a baby my grandma always told me that it’s the change of the season. I try to tell you what is happening in these days to me: I am totally laziness, I feel to do nothing and starving all the time. When I wake up in the morning I am already tired, it’s like if I haven’t sleep at all (even if I slept 10 hours), and just the idea of wearing something nice/putting make up on/make my hair make me feel bad, I have to repeat to myself that I have to go out (even if there is always a cold air that seems waiting just me), then I spend all the day dreaming when I’ll be back home, in my warm bed, watching the TV. When the hunger comes, chips, chocolate biscuits, schiacciatine (I love it) and croissants are my best/worst friends during these long autumn afternoons. Even if I follow my diet till the 6 pm, just idea of relaxing, enjoying all that delicious food, starts to be in my mind as soon as I arrive at home. I try to say “no, Melissa, if you resist will be easier to go on with your diet”, but I already know that it’s a losing game, I am not strong enough for this battle. So I go in the kitchen and I eat a schiacciatina. Than I think “ok, one it’s ok. Now stop and anything will happen”. That schiacciatina it’s just what you can see of an iceberg, the beginning of my ruin. After a bit I have already ate ten schiacciatine (with Philadelphia), few biscuits and a croissant. And it’s not finished yet. Taking a break to the diet makes me feel allowed eating what I want even for dinner, and I call for pizza and ice cream “I will start the diet again tomorrow”. Just thinking that I will have to start the diet again makes me eating double. “I have to be totally satisfied because from tomorrow I won’t eat anything good”. That made the situation worst it’s the fact that at that time, Save is at the gym (doesn’t he feel the change of the season?), and that allows me to do everything in secret. His pejorative gazes and his telling-off would take me far away from junk food. But, he is not there, so I am free to eat as much as I can and made him believe that I ate nothing. Having no witnesses (just my dogs, accomplices tin change of food) made the fact not real, with a clear conscience (even if my belly grows). At eight the laziness starts again, and I fell asleep in from of TV, hearing strange voices (Save that tries to talk with me), and the day after I ask myself if it really happened. The change of the season made even you KO or just me?

I show you the outfit that I wore for my make-up session in Dolce&Gabbana boutique in Milan. Yesterday I show you the pics of my experience (here), that has been awesome. Lately Me and Save had another meeting, than a romantic dinner. I love when we are able to find time just for us, far for everyone and everyplace, in which we can talk and take decisions about our projects. Now that the blog is turning in a real important piece of our life we are planning to move, we think on how re-organize everything, and we let our mind follow our dreams. We would like to have more space for us, more freedom and more time for doing what we love to do. Now that everything is becoming true we are happy, but even scared, we would like to dedicate all our energies to our new life, but we are afraid for the uncertainty too. The only assurance it’s you, that follow always us, that make our days, that make all this possible, that love to see our life shared with you. I won’t be able to live without you and without my blog, that for me it’s a real way to express myself, my passions and “unload” my fashion obsession in all the possible shades. I can’t wait to buy a new piece or match in all the possible ways my favourite shirt, just for show you the result, listen you advices and try to exhibit to you something new or different for that half minute that you will spend watching my daily post.

DOLCE AND GABBANA MAKE UP EXPERIENCE

A lovely experience with Dolce and Gabbana make up products, what could I ask more? Make up always enchanted me, the way in which expert make up artists make shine the best part of the face and sometime are even able to change the features. I always ask advice and try to learn their secrets. That’s why I was more than happy when Dolce&Gabbana guys from boutique in Milan called me for a make up session with their great make up artist. A special thanks goes to Alessandro (the guy with eyeglasses in the pic) that always has a nice thought for me. It has been a gorgeous experience, Alex (the make up artist) has been amazing, he is really talented but even pleasing and with a classy touch that is distinctive in Dolce&Gabbana team. Dolce and Gabbana make up products are great, colors are beautiful and high quality. When we wear good products we feel it. I am not yet talking about the fragrances, that made me immerse in surreal and special atmospheres. Alex gave me so many tips for using at the best Dolce and Gabbana make up. Now I am pretty sure I’ll be able to reproduce something not to far from this. I know by the way that he has master touch. Later Alessandro showed me some pieces from new collection, I couldn’t resist. I tried to show you something from my INSTAGRAM profile, even if it is not allowed to take pictures in the store. Luckily I took notice of it! I am really happy for this wonderful experience. Thank you guys, you are special!
